Botak Botak

WaaWaa!!

I can’t believed it! Yesterday, I was dressed up nicely to Singapore Discovery Centre & this morning, mummy brought me to the salon and had my head shaved!

Weeks before my birthday, mummy had been telling everyone that she will be bringing me to shave my hair after my 1st birthday. 1st weekend after my birthday, my hair is still safe and sound. 2nd Saturday, which was yesterday, we went to Singapore Discovery Centre. (Post of yesterday’s outings would be posted after mummy uploaded the pictures - which might take ages to do)
I had thought that mummy had decided to spare my nice hair and wasn’t on guard when she brought me to the salon.

Mummy was discussing with the lady in the salon about my hair and then carrying me, mummy sat on the chair. The lady actually wanted to cover our body with a piece of cloth but I am uncomfortable about it. Then I was attracted to a buzzing sound but the adults keep trying to distract me from the buzzing sound.

Anyway, after some buzzing, alas! I saw myself in the mirror. Waawaa!! I have become a monk and mummy still tell daddy that I look like a skinny monkey!

Luckily after that daddy & mummy both agreed that I look nice in my new hairstyle. What do you think?

Thai Chilli Cafe

Met hubby at Chinatown after work and wasn’t hungry that day, so we decided to take a walk before having our dinner. Decided to try a small café – Thai Chilli Café at Unit #01-12 Central Square
Interior of the café look like a normal food stall with the counter and the display look like those of “char cai fan”. Decided to take the table outside the table and ordered some food.

We were given menu and a notepad to write down the name of food to order.

Pineapple Rice from Thai Chilli Cafe
Pineapple Rice

The Pineapple Rice is yummy! Hubby like the taste of spices in the pineapple rice, which I am not very used to. There’s additional of raisins in the rice, which blends well with the pineapple rice. The rice is not dry and hard. It’s just right for me! Yummy!

Chicken Wings from Thai Chilli Cafe

Chicken wings are normal. It look a bit charred when they served the food.

Teriyaki Prawn Roll from Thai Chilli Cafe

I like the Teriyaki Prawn Roll. Though the teriyaki prawn taste no different from others but I do like the crunchiness of the prawn.

We even got a complimentary dessert of the day. Not sure what is it. But it seems like tapioca in coconut. Sweet and Yummy! Both of us love the dessert.
Sometimes it’s not a bad idea to pop into any stall that interest you and you might be able to get some surprises. :)

Izaac the demostrator

I had always wanted to record this clip on the video. It shocked us the first time he did that. We had actually shorten the strap with rubber band so that he doesn’t have that much space to free himself but he still managed to do it.
We had to be extra careful when he is strapped to the pram.

Here’s the clip to see how he is able to free himself from the strap of the pram.

Thasevi Food

That’s the first time I went to eat roti prata at this Jalan Kayu Prata Restaurant, heard from friend that it’s really famous. However, the place seems hard to go there. It would be easier if someone drove there. Ordered roti prata with curry chicken. Saw something special on the menu board and ordered that to try.

The curry chicken is yummy. The ice-cream prata though special but have to eat it fast. We waited awhile before we ate it and probably it had melted a bit. The ice-cream wasn’t much to our liking. Think it’s a bit sweet for us. The rest of the prata is yummy though. Do enjoy the roti prata. Yummy!

Parklane Deli House

Went Suntec the other day to buy clothings & shoes for Izaac’s first birthday. Went Liang Seah Street and wonder around to see what food to eat and finally decided on the Parklane Deli House (Steamboat Buffet). It’s actually the same branch as the Parklane Zha Yun Tun Mee House.

Not only do they have soup bases, they also have porridge as soup base.

Seafood & Tom Yam Soup base
Parklane Deli House Steamboat Buffet. The soup base. Seafood and Tom Yam soup

There have 4 different types of soup bases. We took the seafood and tom yum as our soup bases. The seafood soup is really yummy! The tom yum soup is sour but I still prefer the seafood soup. It’s very tasty & ’sweet’. Really yummy!!

As the place is not very big to place all the food out for display, therefore for the meat & seafood, we just need to place the order for the food to be served to our table. We order chicken, sotong, sea cucumber, prawns & crab. The rest of the food can be taken from the display.

Hubby took some cute fish cake. Isn’t that cute. It’s nice too. Liked the chicken too. Yummy! Other than the crab which wasn’t that much to my liking. The rest of the food are yummy! Especially because that the seafood soup is very yummy!

Oops! Almost forgot, the sour plum drink is yummy & refreshing too!

The whole meal costs about $35 so if you are at Liang Seah Street and no idea what to eat. Maybe you can try the steamboat buffet at Parklane Deli House. After the buffet, you can still order the free ice-cream. (We were too full to eat the ice-cream) :)

New York New York

Went out with my colleagues to New York New York @ Citilink Mall. The queue is quite long when we went there, luckily we did make a reservation and one of my colleagues was there early but was told that we could only get a table if there were 4 of us available.
So we had to wait for awhile before we managed to get a seat.

Here’s what we ordered that day:

New York New York

Can’t remember what name of the dish. My friend do have a hard time eating it. keke It’s not really something special.

New York New York

Our first impression of this dish. Chicken Chop. It taste just like chicken chop.

New York New York

Long Island Salmon. It’s a small portion. Though the salmon is nice but I didn’t like the tomato sauce. The tomato sauce seems like the pasta tomato sauce. It’s not to my liking. The mashed potato have a very weird taste which is not to my tasting, it got a taste of the milk.

New York New York

This seafood platter for 2 is not bad. The cold crab is yummy! The rest of the food are not bad.

New York New York

The pasta seems nice. Didn’t taste it so I not sure whether is it nice but it seems very creamy.

For me, I would not want to spend my time queuing for the food. hehe It’s a bit expensive to be spend for the food.

Vivocity Play

Few weekends back, I promised that I would bring the kids go gai-gai that day. Actually was planning to meet my friends that day but something cropped up that day. To not break my promise for the 2 kids, I decided to bring them out for awhile.

Since I was quite lazy that day, I decided to bring them to Vivocity to play with water since they had enjoyed themselves the other time. So after packing up the things, we set out to Vivocity. The little kids were very happy about it.

When we reached there, the place is quite packed. Those ‘good’ and shady place were taken up and we could only managed to get a place near the small tree. The weather is very hot and the kids are glad to be in the water.

Amilie was enjoying herself so much that she even managed to make some friends. See how much she enjoyed herself with her new friends. :)

As the weather was really really hot, I decided to end the trip early. Amilie didn’t want to get out of the pool and had to persuade awhile before she was willing to get out of the pool. Phew! Think the next time we should go there earlier in order to get a shadier place and the kids can play in the pool longer. :)

Lilypie 1st Birthday PicLilypie 1st Birthday Ticker

Today I turn 1 year old!! Yippee!!! I am 1 year older already. As jiejie did not celebrate her one year old birthday, for fairness, mummy said that I would not have any celebration too. Hehe but I don’t mind at all. I still have new clothings and shoes for my birthday. Also got red packets. Hehe.

Although there was no birthday celebration, mummy still let me wear new clothings. See how handsome I looked. Heehee. ;)

Though I got to wear new clothings, but there is something which I don’t understand, mummy lined up some items on the floor and asked me to choose among the things. Hah! Don’t understand what the adults are doing. So enthusiastic to see what I chose. Ok. Since they are so enthusiastic, I would show them my newly learnt skill; walking to the item.

Here’s the clip that daddy shot. Guess what I chose. Hehee :)

That’s how I spent my 1 year old birthday. :D

Amilie had been playing with my camera phone for a long long time. Forgotten since when. ;) Previously, her pics are of odd edges of table or cupboard. But recently, as I browse through the pictures, I discovered that she had taken quite a few self-portraits of herself.
