Chalet Gathering
This is a very late post. Had been busy that I didn’t have much time to upload the pictures up till today. Hehe
On 5th May 2007, my colleagues organised a BBQ chalet as a gathering cos’ some of them are leaving already. (yup, some of them leaving again!) It’s an opportunity for me to bring Amilie & Izaac to enjoy the sun at East Coast Park.
Went there a bit earlier than expected. Walked around the park while waiting for the hosts to come back with the groceries. Here’s a few pictures taken at the chalet.
Hey people, thanks for the gathering. It’s great!! Think everyone had enjoyed ourselves. Well, hopefully next time some one could organise another 1 again. Hehe
P.S. Click on the pictures to view more of the other photos taken at the chalet.
What would you do?
It was around 1pm, Saturday afternoon. I was on the bus on my way to work (yup! work! some testing to do. keke) and saw this incident and kept me thinking of what should or would I do if I am in that situation. Here’s what happened that day:
I was day-dreaming on the bus when I heard “Pop” sound. I looked up and saw that few seats in front of me. An angry mummy was bursting the balloons with her hands. It seems like the siblings were fighting for the balloons and the mummy just snapped (probably couldn’t stand their ‘fightings’) and angrily burst the balloons. The mummy actually invited some stares (hey! it’s hard not to stare, it’s so loud!) and she shouted something like “fight for balloons, don’t want to share, I burst it and see how you fight!”
Then the daughter, elder of the 2 children, went to sit 1 seat in front of her mummy saying that she didn’t want to sit with her. Well, it actually got me thinking. Hmm… what should I do if I am in the mummy’s situation. Well, I could actually feel the mummy had just snapped and lost control. Oh! Thinking of the mummy’s angry face do scare me. And throughout the journey (before I alighted) the daughter did not want to sit with her. However, the mummy did in the end coax the son (younger one) to sit with her.
So mummies, what would or should be done if it happened to you? Actually, I am still thinking about this question since then. keke
Personalised Pictures
Know about this interesting website from Mom of Cairo and yup! definitely interested to try. It’s interesting to see your kids on the foreign currencies. Too bad there isn’t Singapore Note. Or it would be interesting too.
Here’s Amilie & Izaac on the bank notes.
There’s also personalized poker cards if you want.
Here’s my King & Queen of Hearts keke
Tag: The meaning of my kids’ name
Thanks Idy for the tag. Though I had wrote about the meanings of their names before I don’t mind writing it again. Hehe!
For my kids’ name, we decided on the name when they were still my tummy. So for their Chinese name, we didn’t based on their 8 characters but my mum did helped me calculate the strokes to seine that it is matches with the surname. For English name, as my hubby 1st letter is ‘A’ and mine is ‘I’, we decided to name our kids with the same letter. At 1st, we wanted to have ‘A’ for boy and ‘I’ for girl but I think it would be more interesting if we were to switch.
伊婷 (Yee Teng) - 伊人 (This girl) is 娉婷 (Graceful)
Amilie - From the name Emilie meaning Industrious, Ambitious
Hoping this girl to be graceful and industrious.
å¦é˜³ (Hok Yeung) - å¦ (learn) 太阳 (sun)
Izaac - From the name Izaak meaning Laughing
Hoping this boy is happy and laughing all the time and also learn to be like the sun; bright and strong.
So here is the meaning of their names. And I’m not tagging anyone cos’ I think most of the mummies had done this tag. ![]()
Tasty BBQ Charcoal Grill
Whenever we were to eat at the (Blk 40A) Food Centre near to Queenstown Polyclinic for dinner. Hubby would ordered Chicken Cutlet from the stall Tasty Barbeque Charcoal Grill (#01-560) without fail. The stall is so popular that there is always a waiting time of around 30min.
We brought Amilie to the library the other day and hubby wanted to eat the Chicken Cutlet. We waited for about 30min before the food was served to us.
Here’s hubby’s favourite:
Hubby love the sauce. There’s a special sauce they used (I think) and when added with the crispy cutlet ($6.00) . It’s yummy!
I had chicken chop ($5.50) instead as I don’t like the crispy cutlet to be added with sauce. Chicken Chop is yummy! The BBQ sauce is yummy! Chicken is tender and I simply love it! Yummy!
And yup! It’s a stall we would patronise often. But be sure to pray for luck as sometimes the stall wasn’t open. Hubby had ever brought a friend there to try but twice, they didn’t manage to eat it. ![]()
Amilie’s questions
Recently, everything that Amilie sees, she want to know what is it? But sometimes I am just caught in her questions and yap don’t know how to answer.
Recently, everything Amilie sees, she would ask:
Last weekend, went to my mum’s place and Izaac dismantled my bro’s lego toy while he wasn’t around (he’s that violent
) My bro cried when he came back after his lessons. Amilie saw him crying and she asked my mum and me.
A: 什么事?
Mum: 舅舅å“å’¯ï¼
A: 舅舅 cry cry ah?
A: 什么事?
Mum: 舅舅toy å了咯
Mum: è°ï¼Ÿè°å¼„å?Girl Girl (We call her girl girl at home) ah?
A: 弟弟
A: 弟弟弄å了
A: Boy Boy 弄åçš„ (pointing at Izaac as she say this)
This evening, as I was packing my sanitary pads (I normally unpacked from the packaging and put it in the cupboard) Amilie was beside me.
A: 什么æ¥çš„?
M (Keep quiet & pretends not to hear her)
A: 什么æ¥çš„?
M (Knowing she wouldn’t stop till she get some reply) : 妈咪的
A: 妈咪的啊?(seems to be observing)
M: Ern 妈咪的
A: 妈咪的 Pampers ah?
Hubby laughing away. Argh! Me? Speechless…
Tag: 10 Things I Hate Abt My Hubby
Tagged by Huisia & LZMummy. Hmm… when I saw Huisia’s tag, I was still thinking of 10 things? That’s a bit too much for me. I had a hard time thinking of what to add in the list. Thanks to hubby for contributing by irritating me. Humpz!
Here goes:
1. The very 1st that cross my mind without thinking too hard. He farts a lot & aloud. Always tell me ‘å“å±ä¸è‡ï¼Œè‡å±ä¸å“’ but Dear, yours is ‘åˆå“åˆè‡’
(It seems that my kids had this traits too. Argh!)
2. He snores very loud (I think I am getting used to it already as I am able to sleep through the night
)
3. He always leave the hanger in the cupboard after he changed into the clothes (I always told him to put it in the kitchen so that the maid can hang the clothes. Men!)
4. He doesn’t change the water of the aquarium regularly (which he promises to before we got the aquarium)
5. Watching soccer = Can’t hear wife talking (I have to repeat a few times before he heard me)
6. He likes to left things at where he last left it. Think he got problem remembering where’s the original place.
7. He is too focus with his laptop that he couldn’t hear me.
8. The way he keep things is to stack them up with another stack. (Mountain of books)
9. He nagged at me when I sleep too late.
10. He said he wanted to slim down within 6 months but 2 months passed…. (But I got some favors if he didn’t make it keke )
I’m not going to tag any1 cos’ I think most of them
Pots and Pans
Was at Tiong Bahru Plaza that day to watch Spiderman 3. Went for our dinner at the Kopitiam before the show. Had a hot plate style of pork with fried onion from Pots and Pans. The pork with fried onion is very yummy. My set is $4.00 and it also comes with a “shark fin lookalike” mushroom soup.
Hubby’s chicken cutlet set ($3) was nice but I prefer mine.
Think its very economical if you just want to have a meal at Tiong Bahru Plaza. ![]()
Mother’s Day @ Crystal Jade
Happy Mothers’ Day to all mummies! How do mummies celebrate yours? Hubby treated his grandma & mum to Crystal Jade Restaurant @ Holland V on Saturday morning. Me? Well, little Tangs still small, so hubby representing little Tangs to treat me too. (I assume
)
The place was quite packed with families having breakfast at around 10am. (Probably celebrating Mothers’ Day too) Had a heavy
breakfast that day.
Egg Tart (sorry bout the pic, that’s what left of it when I wanted to take the pic
), hubby’s giving good comments for the egg tart saying that it’s better than some of the egg tarts that sold elsewhere. Well, it’s alright for me though.
Deep Fried Beancurd Skin is crispy but it was quite small plate and there’s only around 4 to 5 pieces for our table where there’s like 1 small piece (as shown in the pic) for each of us.
BBQ Pork Bun is yummy. The meat is tasty. Just nice for me.
Seableam Porridge is nicely cooked. The porridge is soft, there’s the taste of the “皮蛋” in the fish porridge. No ’stinky smell’ of the fish. Yummy! The 2 little Tangs love the porridge too! The fish is very fresh and tasty.
The Chee Cheong Fun is plain for me.
Not to my liking. Think its abit tasteless. keke
Steamed Chicken Feet - hubby ate the most cos’ I wasn’t into chicken feet. (Not my kinda food
)
The prawns in the Siew Mai & Ha Kau are big and fresh. Yummy!
I have forgotten the taste of the Deep Fried Abalone Dumpling, probably had a small bite of this dish as I was full after so many dishes.
Amilie took some pictures with Great-Grandma & Grandma while waiting for the last dish (the waitress changed another plate for us as she said that it was ‘over fried’)
Didn’t see much changes in the dish that was served to us
Personally, I think the food is nice but not great enough to specially make a trip for a meal there. ![]()
