Tiong Bahru Market
Went to Tiong Bahru Market few days back (1 day before we went to No Signboard). keke. Waited till today then post.
We seldom went there after it was renovated. And after so long, I finally had a chance to go there again! Yippee! Though the place is more spacious, it was quite warm if we were to sit inside (near the stalls). We chose a table which doesn’t seems to be so warm. Had an enjoyable dinner at Tiong Bahru Market.
The 1st dish I want to recommend is the chicken wings ($1 each) from Yuan Ji Fishball Noodle , #02-72 (think they shared the stalls). Believe me! It’s really Yummy! I could feel the chef’s effort for marinating the chicken wings. It was very well marinated. (Deep into the meat) The skin is crispy and yummy! Ooohhh! It’s really Yummy!
Hubby had chicken rice ($3) from the ‘ever long queue’ Hainanese Chicken Rice #02-82. Didn’t got a taste of the chicken rice as hubby finished it before I got the chance to have a bite.
Heard from hubby that it tasted Yummy!
I had a bowl of Laksa ($3) from Teng Yu Chee Cheong Fun Porridge #02-71. When the laksa was served, I was a bit skeptical about it. The gravy looked diluted but when I took a sip of the gravy, I was wrong! The gravy was thick and not only that! The cook’s very generous about his prawns. Ate a lot. Yummy! The only minus is the cockles. Seems a bit dried up.
I am missing the food at Tiong Bahru Market already. ![]()

No Signboard @ East Coast Park
Went to East Coast Park for dinner with some friends this evening. Haven’t been there for a long time & it seems to be not a bad place to have our dinner.
Decided to make our choices at No Signboard for our meal. Probably that today happen to be a weekday, we managed to get a table near to the sea but it was not windy tonight.
Here’s what we had:
Drunken Prawn - The Prawn is big! Feel thirsty after drinking the soup. Probably a bit saltish for me
Claypot Sea Cucumber - Like this dish.
The sea cucumber is ‘crunchy‘. keke Just nice for me. Yummy!
Another dish of prawn. Cereal Prawn - Taste nice & yeah! the prawn is big and fresh too. Just like the drunken prawn. And they are very generous with the cereal. It almost looked like a mountain of cereal on top of the prawn. keke
Though the oyster sauce broccoli doesn’t look appealing.
Don’t get deceived by it outlook.
This dish is very simple and Yummy!
Recommended by one of the friend, ordered a Hokkien Style Steamed Fish. Managed to take a few bites of the fish as I don’t really like to eat fish. (Hate the fishy smelll
) Find the fish not bad (For a person who don’t really take fish).
Finally, the last 2 dishes of crab. There’s the white pepper crab & the chilli crab.
The crabs are very very big & fresh. It’s my first time trying white pepper crab. Probably that’s why I am not very used to the taste of the white pepper. Sauce for the chilli crab taste abit bland & the crab is just as big as the white pepper crab. Prefer the chilli crab to the white pepper.
Service is good though and I do enjoyed tonight’s dinner by the sea. heehee!
The Tang Sanctuary Video: Zoo Trip 2007
Here’s the edited version of the 1 hr video clips (reduced to 10 min) at the Singapore Zoo on 20th March 2007. Enjoy……
Zoo Trip on 20th March 2007
The 1st time we brought Amilie to the Singapore Zoo was in 2005. 20th March 2007, to celebrate Papa Tang & my birthdays (which was 1 day apart), we decided to bring Amilie to the Zoo.
Izaac couldn’t tagged along with us as it would be handful for us. keke!
We left the house after Amilie woke up & washed up (around 8am). Took a bus there, and reached there around 9+. Had our breakfast at the KFC before we begin our journey of the day. keke
Amilie was thrilled. She looked up into the trees and down under the bridges when we told her there’s animals.
On our way to the washroom, we saw a zoo keeper with a pony walking to the pony rides section and Amilie got a chance to touch and feel the pony!
Boy! She wasn’t afraid at all. keke
Hah! Not not only was she busy looking at the animals, she was busy making friends too!
Too bad it started to drizzle, took a short rest at the shelter and continued after the rain is ’smaller’
So with Amilie on the pram under the umbrella. we continued our walk in the zoo.
Luckily the rain stopped after awhile and we are able to enjoy the rest of the animals in a cool weather.
All of us had enjoyed the trip that day but I guessed Amilie had the most fun in the playground.
She was hysteric when she saw the playground and was running towards it when we arrived at the Children’s World!
PS. Editing of the video still in progress….. ![]()

Celebrity Lookalike
Happen to came across this interesting website while surfing the net.
It’s interesting how they analyzed the face from the photo and matches it with the celebrities they had on their list!
Took the 2 little Tangs’ photos and ‘experimented’ with it awhile and this is what I got!
Haha! So the 2 lil’ Tangs do have some celebrities look alike too!
But it seems like Izaac got a Ger-Ger look!

Dessert Hut @ People’s Park
Went on a bus ride one Wednesday and decide to stop at People’s Park @ Chinatown for desserts. Had tried to went there once in the evening but it was closed. When we reached there around 3, the shop was packed with people. Had to wait awhile for a empty table.
Got myself a bowl of Cooling White Fungus with Red Dates while Papa Tang ordered Warm Peanut Dumplings.
While waiting for our desserts, 1 of the workers, pasted a sold out stickers on the desserts menu. Seems like their business are very good and come to a conclusion that it would be hard to find the shop opened around 7 to 8 pm due to the overwhelming of orders.
Yummy! White Fungus with Red Dates at $1.50 for a bowl is very cooling & sweet though I think I would opt for a Hot White Fungus with Red Dates the next time I came.
The sweetness of the peanut filling of the dumplings is Yummy! The peanut soup is Yummy! too. Guess I prefer their hot desserts
There are still quite a number of desserts for us to try though. Hope we would be making our way to the Dessert Hut 1 of these afternoon again! ![]()
ABC Market
Though it was raining that evening, we still make our way to the ABC Market for our dinner.
As there were alot of stalls, after ’surveying’ the place awhile, we decided to try the BBQ Chicken Wings from ABC Delight (#01-107) & another 2 dishes (Prawn Paste Chicken & Omelette’s with egg) from the Cze Cha stall next to it (Wei Xiang Kitchen 味香å°åލ).
1st to be served is the chicken wings. Chicken wings are at $1 each. Looks very appealing & appetizing. Though not marinated with honey (Didn’t have the taste of honey
), it still taste Yummy!
After waiting for quite awhile (a lot of people seems to order from that stall), the Prawn Paste Chicken & Omelette are served!
Prawn Paste Chicken (S$6) is nice. Yummy!
The Omelette… Wow! $4 for the omelette is pretty worth it with the prawn they put in. The prawn is big and fresh. Other than it’s a bit saltish for me… It’s Yummy!
