Yummy Tuesday Night

January 31, 2007 · Filed Under Yummy! · Comment

Almost every Tuesday, we would go someplace to have dinner. Last night was just like the other Tuesdays. :) Let me share with you what we had.

1st we went to the Makansutra Gluttons Bay. Ordered a plate of BBQ Chicken Wings ($1.20 for 1) and a plate of satay
( $6 for a set Prices were higher as compared to Chomp Chomp which I went with my Colleagues last week. Both food are alright (but not fantastic hehe)

After Gluttons Bay, we walked towards the Clarke Quay (As usual). This time, we went to the Central (Opposite of Clarke Quay). Though not all the shops are opened yet, we still manage to get something to eat at the Kopitiam @ Level 4 ( I guess). We shared a small bowl of Fruit Combo Sago from the desserts stall as we were quite full.

Well, the sago ‘blends’ well with the mango & strawberry. Its sweetness ‘covering’ the sourness of the mango & the strawberry. Sitting by the window looking out the night scenes of Clarke Quay & eating the dessert is heavenly. Yummy!

About time to go back to the 2 little Tangs @ home. On our way, we saw Hokkaido Ice Cream stall & I couldn’t stop myself not to eat that. So bought 1 Cookies & Cream Ice-Cream (wanted the Green Tea flavour but PapaTang was afraid that he couldn’t sleep at night though. :-P ) & Chocolate topping Hot Balls. Try the Hot Balls, they are really really Yummy! I tried the Chocolate cos’ the picture it look very delicious and indeed they are. Chocolate with butter. Wow! Wonderful!!! keke. (Next time I wanna try the other flavours) Remember to eat them while they are still warm.

So this is how we spent our Tuesday evening. Wonder what plans would we have for next week? Anyone with suggestions? :)

Family Photo Taking

January 28, 2007 · Filed Under Baby Talk · Comment

This afternoon, we went photo taking with my paternal family members. Went to the same studio (Overheard that the studio is called Swanlake Studio) as the other time we took for our family portrait. While waiting for the other aunties & uncles to arrive, we took a portrait with my grandma & shu shus.

After waiting for about 1 hr+ (Finally!), every members in the family finally arrived. We took pictures. Mummy kept telling to smile. Well, I was tired you know!? How am I suppose to smile when I should be asleep at this hour? The jiejie there kept taking the toy to attract DiDi’s attention. Guess I am not the only one who is distracted huh? Finally, all pictures were taken. Now, I can only wait patiently for the photos to be out before uploading up.

Daddy, when are you going to take the photos? I wanna show my friends how pretty I am. :-P

Ice3 Cafe

After dinner at Chomp Chomp. We decided to chill out (and it’s raining!!) at Ice3 (Pronounce as Ice Cube) Cafe. Simple decorations of Valentine’s Day were put up in the cafe. Near the door are 2 long tables. Further in, there are some sofa seats (a pity we couldn’t took the sofa seats as was told that the sofa area was full). So took our seats at 1 of the long tables.

As most of us were still full after the dinner, we only ordered the Ring of Fire. Ring of Fire - 8 scoops of different flavoured ice cream of our choice & a candle in the middle. Guess that’s how it is called Ring of Fire huh?

Chomp Chomp Food Centre

Last night went Chomp Chomp (Serangoon Garden Food Centre) with my colleagues. First visit to this famous food centre (didn’t have a chance to go there). Most of the stalls are pasted with posters or cuttings of articles about their stalls.
With some recommendations (they usually buy from those stalls) , this is what we had….

Lala & stingray from Chomp Chomp BBQ Seafood - Stall #1 (Very highly recommended)

Lala ($10) tastes great (praises were heard among us) but the stringray ($10) (Stingray was gone before pictures were taken. keke), Yummy! The stingray is very smooth and soft (Fleshy!).

Satay from Chomp Chomp Fried Banana Fritters - Stall #34
Satay from Chomp Chomp Fried Banana Fritters - Stall #34

Satay - Not very sure of the stall, Only know that it’s the 1st stall from the front (1st stall selling Carrot Cake)
Satay (40 cents each) (Ketupak for 50 cents each) Yummy! The meat is tender & and the sauce (probably prepared by the owner) tasted great. Try it the next time when you go there… :)

BBQ Chicken Wings from Daily Fresh BBQ Chicken Wings - Stall #3

The BBQ Chicken Wings ($1 each) were just alright. Though highly recommended (saw from web), don’t really think that the chicken wings were really great.

Fried Hokkien Mee @ Chomp Chomp

Fried Hokkien Mee - 2nd stall opposite the Carrot cake stall. (A glass window to view the cooking of Hokkien Mee)

The fried Hokkien Mee ($5), probably was ‘cold’ by the time we finished the rest of the dishes weren’t that nice. Maybe we were all full as the mee doesn’t ‘look’ appetizing. Only took a small portion of the noodle. ;)
There are still alot of stalls to try at Chomp Chomp. Guess I would have to go and try the rest other days. keke

Chinese New Year Clothings? Shopping therapy?

January 25, 2007 · Filed Under Mama's Yakking · 3 Comments

Well, these 2 days I was on course at Tekka Mall. Every day, after the course ended, I went to Bugis to shop for New Year Clothings. Alone! And each evening, I spent about 2.5 hours shopping. Well, I wasn’t those kind that went shopping often so I was quite amazed when I collated my spendings for these 2 days. Guess what, I had actually over-spent the sum (amount can’t be mentioned) that I set for myself and I haven’t even finish buying my clothings (I like to wear new clothings & shoes for CNY). So now I would have to find some place cheap to buy my shoes and maybe I can cut down on the number of clothings for the 2 little ones huh? keke….

Let you see some of things that I bought…..

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

After these 2 days, I come to a conclusion: It’s terrible to shop with a lady but it’s horrible to let a lady shop alone!! ;)

Zion Road Food Centre

January 25, 2007 · Filed Under Yummy! · 3 Comments

Went there last night and tried out some of the stalls there. We had a main course, a side dish and a dessert. And yes, we were both full and satisfied. keke….
For our ‘main course’ we ordered from Seng Huat Western Food.
I had chicken cutlet & Papa Tang had fish ‘n’ chips. Chicken cutlet tastes alright to me. It’s tender. As compared to chicken cutlet, Fish ‘n’ chips is better. Well, guess it’s up to individual to decide. Yah?

Next is No18 Zion Road Fried Kway Teow (sorry! forgotten to take pic). Well, that’s yummy! It’s tasty and not very oily. It’s hard to miss that stall as there is always a long queue. It’s really yummy! Give it a try!

Ice Kachiang with Mango Ice Cream @ Zion Road Food Centre

Finally! Very very special Ice Kachiang. There are 2 desserts stalls but its the one near to the duck rice. (Don’t remember what’s the stall name.) But it’s quite easy to notice the picture of the ice cream with the ice kachiang. Hehehe! I ordered it cos’ I was curious. keke! And yap, I din make a wrong choice! It;s yummy. The mango ice cream (we were guessing whether did they made themselves) blends with the sweetener. And it tastes wonderful! Very strong ice cream taste, it doesn’t taste like the normal mango ice cream we ate from other places. Yummy!!!

Fever Fever

January 24, 2007 · Filed Under Baby Talk · 2 Comments

Hi everybody! Poor me! I was sick for 2 days already. Luckily this morning I feel much better. I had fever & I was forced to paste the something very cold on my forehead. Which I don’t like cos’ it’s very cold!

Amilie Fever
Amilie having fever! :(

. Then yesterday I went to see the doctor again. And was told that I got diarrhea too. Boohoo…. no wonder I kept poo poo the night before. Then I was forced to take the medicine. I don’t like and would try my means and ways to avoid it (succeeded sometimes heehee).

Last night, my temperature shot to 38.7 degrees and mummy (always had her ways to make me drink the medicine), despite all my crying and struggling, forced me drink the medicine. Yuck!

Hmm…. I don’t want to be sick again! Don’t want to drink the medicine! I don’t like…!

So happy that I am well again! Yippee!

Ring! Ring! Phone call…

January 20, 2007 · Filed Under Mama's Yakking · 3 Comments

Last night, I was eating dinner in the living room & Sister Tang was in my room watching tv.

After awhile, I heard her calling ‘Papa! Papa!’ & chatting away. I thought that she was using my phone and pretending to chat with Papa Tang who was working at that time. After finishing my dinner, I went in to the room. And sure enough, she was holding my phone to her ear. And yah, chatting away (very real!). Keke.

From the way she chat on the phone, I got a feeling she was actually talking to someone on the phone. So I took the phone from her (after a bit of persuasion). Haha, guess what? She had actually redialed the last called number in my phone & chatted with my friend (mistaken him for Papa Tang). Oh my! So funny! Haha! My friend even thought that I was the 1 who make that call. Haha! Next time if anyone of you happen to answer calls from me, be prepared that you might be hearing a little cheeky toddler’s voice instead of mine. :P

Maybe I should just get her a own line. Yah?

Short term memory?

January 19, 2007 · Filed Under Mama's Yakking · Comment

Well, seven months after giving birth to Brother Tang, I am worried! For my short term memory! (I am sure I wasn’t suffering with any memory problem after Sister Tang) Guess it started few weeks back but nowadays got a feeling that it’s getting worse. I can forget what I was chatting about after being interrupted & forget all those small small details.

Out of curiousity & yup depressed over my memory loss , I searched the net to find out whether pregnancy do affect my memory. keke… Seems like a lot of mummies are having the same problem. (I am normal! hehe)

One report says :- the experience of memory loss is probably, in part, down to the increased psychological stresses of being pregnant. And that this may have some biological underpinnings, because the two main hormones produced in pregnancy are known to have effects on memory. But, studies also show that only certain kinds of memory seem to be affected - working memory and recall (the latter is the part that helps us find names, dates, shopping lists etc).

Found 1 remedy (Kiasu abit), not sure it works……

Home Remedy for Weak Memory
Soak 7 almonds overnight. Peel and grind to a paste. Mix in 1 glass milk. Simmer for some time. Drink while still warm for 15 to 40 days.

Tomorrow, I am going to buy almonds & milk. ;)
