Izaac’s Birthday Celebration & Father’s Day Celebration

14th June is Izaac’s birthday and also happened to be Father’s Day that day. Though Izaac had celebrated his birthday in school on Friday, I still wanted to help him have a small celebration at home on his actual birthday.

In the afternoon, I went to buy a small cake from Crystal Jade (No ice-cream cake this year) for Izaac. Izaac is happy of course. And Amilie was asking me why didi have 2 birthdays. And I told her that she will be having 2 birthday celebrations next year too.

Izaac Learn A Song In Class

Recently, Izaac told me that his teacher taught him a new song. Then he started singing for me and even did it with actions. It’s really cute to see him doing it. Tried to record down his singing but he was a bit shy to do the actions and he wasn’t familiar with the last verse of the song.

Izaac Celebrate His Birthday In Class

Today’s Izaac’s 3rd Birthday. On Friday, it happened to be Izaac’s last day of playgroup before the 2 weeks school holidays, we decided to help him celebrate his birthday in advance in school. 1 week before the actual day, which was 12th of June, Izaac was all excited about it. He saw that we had bought the items for goodie bags and kept asking whether those were for his birthday.

5th Prenatal Visit on 8th May 2009

It’s another visit to the Gynae. Baby about 24th week old and my weight had increased to 43kg. Checked with Gynae what’s the baby’s weight but he told us that still unable to weigh the baby, roughly around 600g.

The Gynae measured the head and told us that the baby is fine. Below is the scan of the baby.

My appetite remained the same. Prefer eating cakes a lot and had stop liking potato chips. I had grown out of potato chips. The weather is getting warmer every night, sometimes woke up all sweaty. I would wake up in the middle of the night to on the air-conditioner to get back to sleep.

Sometimes I would feel a bit of the baby but not as much as when I was pregnant with Izaac.

Next visit will be 4 weeks later.

Coloring Activities

After the first Art & Craft we had, I had started searching online and bookstores for some Children’s coloring worksheets for the kids.
Here’s some websites where I printed out for the kids to do at home.

- First-School Preschool Activities and Crafts

The kids got to color different alphabet and the pictures that begin with different letters. Sometimes, we even got to do some crafts that were printed from the website. The kids prefer crafts to writing. Think their best type of coloring is using water colors and using fingers to paint the pictures.

Though it’s easy to find worksheets for English and numbers, I did not manage to find any on Chinese. So I had to find from the bookstore. We bought some Chinese book with activities for the kids to do at home. However, think the kids had a hard time recognizing the Chinese characters as they seldom come across Chinese characters as much as English Alphabets.

4th Prenatal Visit on 11th April 2009

We were supposed to see our Gynae on 2nd of April but he was on some seminar. We went for the Fetal Assessment Scan at Thomson Medical that day.

I will be having a baby girl as confirmed by the Obsterian. The fetal assessment went fine and the Obsterian explained to us the baby organs and told us that the baby is about average size. Baby covered its eyes with its hand on one occasion. We got 2 printouts of the baby and were told that the report will be sent to the Gynae’s since my next appointment will be one week later.

Amilie’s Music Wonderland Graduation

Amilie’s finished her Music Wonderland lesson at Yamaha in March. On the last day of the music lesson, also the graduation day, the kids had a mini concert in the classroom. Every parent brought their own camera to take down their own children’s performance. We are no exception. Some even came with the grandparents. The classroom was crowded that day.

Izaac also got to sit at the electone with Amilie. First the kids sang the first song that they learnt in the class. Amilie, as usual, taught Izaac the songs that they sang and demonstrated to him the actions of the songs.

Then they sang another song which they had learnt in the class.

Mama Tang’s Birthday on 19th March 2009

This year’s birthday celebration was a quiet one for me. As I was not really physically energetic to walk about, we decided to go out awhile. The only thing that I wanted to do for this year’s birthday was to take neoprints together. Loved taking neoprints as I think it’s one way of keeping memories on special occasions.

Early in the morning, we brought the kids to pray at the temple, after the praying, we went to Bugis to take the neoprints. That’s the only place we knew that had neoprints machines. We took 2 sets of neoprints and had fun posing at the machines.

Outing To Motherhood Exhibition 050609

I was really excited when I received an email telling me that Izaac had been selected as one of the contestants for the Motherhood Exhibition’s Little Prince Charming 2nd Semi-Final. I had actually mailed out the kids’ photos only few days before the closing date. Too bad Amilie didn’t get selected for the contest. Here are the pictures that I mailed out for the contests.

However, when I read further, I realized that there is an Interview and Q&A session. I was thinking that Izaac was so shy that I think he would not be able to answer any questions. Nevertheless, I still let him participate in the contest to let him have some “experience”.

As it was the first time that I had signed the kids up for any contest, I didn’t know what to expect of the contest so I didn’t prepare Izaac on anything.

First Artwork at Home

Recently, I started to let the kids learn writing and had fun doing art & crafts at home. It started with the first artwork we did at home.

Was clearing out the used car coupons that hubby left in the car and decided to bring the used coupons for the kids to play with.

Let the kids chose their own color of construction paper, then tore out the number tabs from the coupons. At first, I just let them paste the tabs on the paper but Izaac lost interest easily as he was uncomfortable with the sticky feeling on his hands.
