Rugby Game

January 15, 2008 · Filed Under General · Comment

I have always been a big sports fan, from football, basketball, tennis, table tennis to rugby, I have at one time or another partakes in these physical sports. Now, years down the road, even though I don’t take part physically, I still try to catch some sports events and programs whenever they are available on television. If you are a big sports fan like me or like a rugby game or two during your spare time, then you should be glad the RBS 6 Nations Tournament is going to begin soon.

The RBS 6 Nations Tournament is Europe’s premier international rugby tournament. If you are looking for information on teams and players profiles, tournament news, fixtures and results, interactive games and podcasts, you can find that and more at the RBS 6 Nations Official web site at http://www.rbs6nations.com.

Spectacles

January 12, 2008 · Filed Under General · Comment

I have been wearing spectacles since I was in Primary School. After Secondary School days, I had switched to putting on contact lenses instead as I think that I don’t look nice wearing spectacles.

Since then, I had seldom step out of my house with my spectacles, only on some occasions when my eyes are tired. As some of you might know that, I am currently back to wearing spectacles because of the lack of oxygen in my eyes, causing my sight to be slightly blur in my left eye. I had no choice but to go back to wearing spectacles.

Since I had to put on spectacles for some time, I had to find some spectacles which “looks” good on me. :) Not only do I have a great discovery on stylish spectacles, I also found the spectacles as low as $8. Here’s the Great Discovery: www.ZenniOptical.com!

Guess what? Here’s one of my favourite design.

Amilie’s 3 Years Old

January 12, 2008 · Filed Under Mama's Yakking · 3 Comments

Amilie turned 3 years old on the 8th January 2008. Took leave that day to celebrate with her. As we aren’t able to get the Free Zoo Admission Pass, we brought her shopping instead. Brought her to Marina Square and Suntec. Hoping to find some nice clothings for Chinese New Year but only managed to find 1 dress and 1 shirt.

Went we reached home, we sang birthday song and ate the birthday ice-cream cake (from Swensens). Not sure Amilie really understands the meaning of birthday but I believe she enjoyed her cake and was happy blowing the candles. keke

Here’s a video clip and some pictures which I had taken for the birthday girl.

Retirement Villages

January 10, 2008 · Filed Under General · Comment

Recently, I have read an article in a magazine on the Singapore’s government plan to build retirement villages or retirement communities in neighboring countries. It is an interesting take by the writer saying that while this is a viable option for Singaporeans as the cost of living in Singapore has been rising steadily over the years, resulting in many senior citizens unable to afford to retire. He went on to add while in the past, old people normally would depend on their children for their retirements, nowadays with the tendency to have few if not no children at all, people who do not have plan prudently and save enough would have problems retiring in the future. As such, the government’s plan to have retirement villages or communities build in neighboring countries would in fact be a good alternative to those with limited retirement savings.

While I think the government’s plan is a good one, there remain many underlying issues that are not easily answered just by setting up retirements villages. Personally, I would not like to shift to a different country when I retired unless it is to a more developed country. I prefer to be near my family, my friends and an environment that I familiar. What about you? Do you really want to stay in a retirement village full of people who are retired or some place near your family, friends and with young people all around?

La Jolla Banquets

January 10, 2008 · Filed Under General · Comment

One of my good friend came back from California on a holiday trip a couple of months back and he was gushing over the Italian food he had devour at La Jolla Banquets during his trip there, he was thinking of going for Italian cooking lessons so that he can duplicate what he have eaten over in La Jolla Banquets.

While our close group of friends applauds his enthusiasm, we have no doubt that he will not be able to cook Italian food as well as he ate over there. Nor that we will trying to dampen his enthusiasm, just that this good friend of mine always seem to have a sudden passion for something and within months, the fire will have die down.

Nevertheless this time round, the ribbing that he got from us seem to spur him on even more. In fact, we even have a side bet among us how long he can last this time round. Anyway, we are keeping our fingers crossed. :)

Yoga Lesson

January 7, 2008 · Filed Under Mama's Yakking · 8 Comments

Having new year means having some new resolutions. This year’s resolution is to have a much more healthy lifestyle. Since the time that the whole family fell sick. I had lost 4kg and now trying to gain back my weight. Stretch marks and my pants are getting a bit loose. To prevent myself from falling sick, I had started to take up yoga exercise class.

I had wanted to take up yoga classes as I think that it can de-stress my mind and body. I had not exercise since I was gave birth to Amilie, only finding excuses to do exercise. With the yoga classes, I would be more committed to some exercise as I had felt my body weaken. I was easily tired and my blood circulation wasn’t that good. (I think)

After taken up the yoga class, I could feel myself not feeling as tired as before. It’s a good sign. So I think it’s good to find some exercise that you like to do. For a healthy lifestyle, it’s good to exercise. :)

Izaac’s Updates

January 6, 2008 · Filed Under Mama's Yakking · Comment

Izaac went for the 18th month assessment and the last injection. Izaac’s weight is 11.1kg, height is 86cm. According to the nurse, he is a bit overweight but because of his height (he is taller), he is alright. Izaac loves to eat a lot, whenever we are eating, he would want to eat also. We are not sure when he is full.

He had started to say “No” to things he don’t want or don’t like. He is still very cheeky and it’s hard to get angry with him when he flashes his cheeky smile.

He is not fully potty trained yet, though he is able to say he wanted to “do big business” he still does not “small business”. He only tell us, “wet wet” after he wet his pants. Still figuring a way to toilet trained him. I guessed toilet training boys and toilet training girls did have a little different. ?

He is still as shy to strangers but when he is around with his sister, he is not that shy. He follows her around and imitated her. Well, that’s my little boy.
