We found our way! Yippee!
Often, we have trouble telling Izaac on not doing the things that he wasn’t suppose to do. Like touching the buttons of the fans, opening the cupboard etc.. We had the habit of saying “No” whenever he did something which he wasn’t supposed to do. And he persisted in doing it despite warnings from us…
Recently, hubby thought of using another method. He tried not to use the word “NO” and just let him open the cupboard, or playing with the telephone.
Miraculously, it worked! He stopped playing awhile! He pushed back the cupboard! That’s amazing, isn’t it?
So our conclusion is the little kid is seeking attention in a different way. Now, the next step is probably to not make any sound when he climb up the chair or table. I got a feeling that he would not do that if nobody make a fuss of his climbing acts. (Of course, have to keep a close watch though, in case he lose his steps and fell off.

Just today, I read in my local papers about this kid who is currently 4 years old and his parents are already planning for him to take his “O†levels by the time he’s 9 years old. For your information, under the normal education system, anyone who completes his or her “O†levels should be around 16 years of age. Given that 2 of their older children have already completed their “O†levels by 14 and 12 years of age, it’s no wonder their parents are expecting more from their youngest child.
From the papers, the reasons given for their children exceptional academic qualification are homeschooling, lots of books, education software such as math software and kids educational games. When I told my wife about it, she’s very excite about it and ask me to check out what type of educational software would be good for our kids.
After surfing online, I found that Knowledge Adventure would be a good place to look for educational software. Personalized Housewarming Gifts
Choosing the right gift for the right occasion can be a very tough decision. Giving gifts is something very personal and there’s always the chance that you will select something that does not suit the person’s individual taste or for the right occasion. Worse, if you give something that indirectly offend the gift receiver, your personal relationship with him or her will deteriorate.
It’s especially tough when deciding on a housewarming gift for your friends or relatives. The most common things that people gives are always household or electronic products which normally do come in handy. However, there are occasions whereby the same gifts will be received, resulting in an unused gift.
That’s why I was pleasantly delighted when I came across this website that offers personalized house warming gifts. Roland’s Housewarming Gifts was started in 1995 as a source for closing gifts for real estate agents. At the time they sold exclusively through a catalog sent out to that profession. In 2000 their website was established and they started advertising to the general public. Their goal is not only to offer the best selection of housewarming gifts on the Internet, but also the largest selection of address plaques, house signs and personalized doormats.

LCD TVs
LCD TV is the rage and a must have item for homeowners nowadays. What makes LCD TV such a hot household item is the fact that a LCD TV consumes less physical space than their predecessors. With housing space getting smaller and smaller by the day especially in Singapore, it’s no wonder homeowners tend to go for household products that consume less space.
Buying a LCD TV is not as simple as just going to a physical retail store and buys it on the spot. With information on electronic and household products widely available online, it’s best to do a bit of research and read up on products’ reviews before going down to a physical store to buy. Even then, you should not buy on the spot, it’s best to talk to the sales staff about the models you are interested in. Here are pointers to help you in your buying decision.
For example if you are interested in buying a 32 inch LCD TV, there are many brands to choose from such as Samsung, Phillips, Sony and Panasonic. First, go online and read up on the specs and features of the various models and ask around in forums for feedbacks or reviews.
Finally if you decide to buy a panasonic 32 inch LCD TV, go down to a physical store and ask the sales stuff questions like “ What is so good about this model, ‘What makes this a better model than this one’, etc. Ask specific and detailed questions too.
But beware of those sales staff you see in a physical store, some of them are actually representing brands like Samsung or Panasonic and they will promote their own brands and talk down other brands.
Finally, ask for a physical demonstration and bring along your own dvds or cds to test out the model you are going to buy. If everything looks good, then it’s time to open your wallet.
If you intend to get a LCD TV soon, you can check out this website http://www.krillion.com for information on different LCD TV models, pricing and the locations where you can get your dream LCD TV.
Donut Factory
Having tried the donuts from Munchy Donuts, and I was talking about not having a chance to try the donuts from Donut Factory, we managed to try it that day.
As we happened to pass by Raffles City Shopping Centre, we decided to try our luck (hoping that the queue won’t be that long). At first when we reached there, we thought the queue wasn’t long, when we turned back, we saw another queue, they had separated the queue so as to allowed the others to shop.

My New Camera
Finally I managed to get my camera! Yippee!
I managed to trade in my spoilt camera back to Olympus and get a new model at a lower price. The retail price for the camera is $499 but managed to trade in the camera at $300+ and bought an extra battery at 20% discount as told by the saleslady.
I had been busy these few days that I only managed to take a picture of my new MJU 820.
Tada! Here’s my new camera.
Finally, I could enjoy taking pictures again!
Cheap Hotels
I have always discussed with my wife the possibility of going to England someday. As you all would have known by now, I’m a big soccer fan. My favorite football club is Liverpool and one of my goals is to pay a visit to Anfield before I hit 40 years of age.
Besides visiting Anfield, there are a couple of cities that I would like to visit as well in UK such as the London Theater District which housed many cinemas, bars, clubs and restaurants. The nightlife in London is incredible and I want to see how the night scene stacked up against the local scene.
Also, another city which interests me is Glasgow which has many amenities that cater for a wide range of cultural activities. It also has a large selection of museums and a library, the Mitchell Library which is one of the largest reference libraries in Europe.
Lastly, I would love to give Edinburgh a visit too. Edinburgh which is the capital of Scotland is well known for the Edinburgh Festival which is a series of official and independent festivals held over a period of 4 weeks in August. The atmosphere is going to be electric and fun during these 4 weeks.
The only issue I have is with the accommodations in these few cities. Luckily, I managed to useful information on London Hotels, Edinburgh Hotels and Glasgow Hotels at this website.
Now, I only have to wait for the right time to go.
Outram Temporary Market
Went to Outram Temporary Market for a light dinner recently. Forgotten to note down the names of the stalls that we tried that day.
Hubby ordered the roasted duck rice while I had roasted chicken noodle from the same stall.
According to my hubby, the duck rice was not bad. Didn’t try it so I wasn’t very sure how does it taste like.
For my roasted chicken noodle, it was just alright but the sauce was too little making the noodle a bit bland.
Other than the main dishes, we also additionally ordered some satay. Well, it was that great having tried other satay stall in ABC Market. The presentation of the sauce looked special with the garlic spread nicely. However, according to my hubby (I didn’t try the sauce that day), it was too diluted and couldn’t really taste the chilli.
Actually, probably the most famous would be the Claypot Rice at Outram Temporary Market. We had not tried that cos’ the wait was quite long. Think one day, we should really try the Claypot Rice. So have you tried the Claypot Rice?
Applying For Mortgage
Increasing, people with home loans or mortgages are finding it harder to pay up their home loans. While it seems at first glance that banks are to be blamed for the woes of many debtors, the truth is these debtors themselves have to should at least part of the blame.
Banks are in the business of making money through loans, they have no obligation to answer to consumers’ inability to pay up their home loans. However, the ease and ways at which banks allow people apply for housing loans do raised questions of the marketing and loaning ethics of banks.
Personally, I feel that everyone needs to be aware of the dangers of getting into loans with terms too good to be true. Everyone needs to understand their financial situation well, do your sums before getting into a home loan agreement with the banks. The only way to prevent yourself from being entrapped by a home loan that you can’t afford is to do your due research well.
