My Pacifier!

April 20, 2007 · Filed Under Baby Talk · 4 Comments

Heard from mummy that JieJie don’t really like to take the pacifier when she was a baby. And since she had no problem sleeping, (What does she mean by that??) mummy didn’t let her had pacifier after that.

Ever since I had my pacifier, Jie Jie always put it in her mouth if she saw mine lying around.

Here’s my evidence.

So my conclusion is: My pacifier taste better than hers. Yay! :-P

Though noisy & warm (non-air conditioned), I could feel the relaxation & enjoyment of eating there. ;)

Every dishes in the menu looked yummy! We decided to try some of their signature dishes.

Here’s the dishes we had:-

Here’s a healthy dish! The pork floss & salted vegetables bring out contrast to the bland taste of the fried rice. Yummy! However, we find it’s a bit expensive for a plate of fried rice. ;)

Shanghai Pork Dumpling - $3.60

When you put the small dumpling into your mouth. Oooo.. you can just feel the juice of the pork spilling out as you bite it! Oh! It’s sensational! Yummy!

This is a MUST try dish! (If you like durian) It’s really really yummy! The skin of the puff is chewy like the glutinous rice and yet crispy due to the frying of the puff. The best part of when the durian oozes out into the mouth. The sweetness of the durian puff is just nice, sweet but not too sweet. :) And remember to eat it while it’s hot! :-P

That’s all we had that day. :)

Here’s what we might order the next time we went there:
Probably you could try their drinks too. ;)

Barney

April 18, 2007 · Filed Under Mama's Yakking · 5 Comments

I always liked to watch kids shows on TV since young till now. Recently I love watching Barney. :) I may be a mother of 2 (I am still young! mind you :-P) but I love to watch Barney with Amilie. :)

Recently had been trying to get a Barney soft toy for her but think I have been looking at the wrong places.

TV-addict
A very engrossed TV-addict

So what’s so special about this purple dinosaur?

Hah! I love to see Amilie’s engrossed face when she was watching the Barney’s songs.
Love to see her dance and hear her sing along with Barney & friends though I wasn’t sure what she was singing. :-P

I love it especially when Amilie sang ‘I luf you’ and she went around giving everyone a big strong hug. Even the display beside the TV got a hug! keke

Think I should give some credits to the show for letting my girl know how to say ‘I luf You’ and everytime she sings that, she would start hugging everybody at home (but Izaac would push away keke cause it seems like strangling him keke).

Well, think I should try looking for the Barney soft toys at the right places, yeah? :)

Heehee! I had actually introduced this cafe before! Here’s the link if you have missed it. :) But I couldn’t help it but talked bout this cafe again! :-P

The Chocolate Factory
Inside The Chocolate Factory

We sat outside the cafe at the sofa again. Hehe Managed to capture a picture of the cafe. It’s very comfy. I had a chocolate milk shake while hubby had a Iced Black Forest.

The Iced Black Forest is special. It’s a mixture of cherry, chocolate and we also had a taste of coffee in the drink. It’s quite a nice special mixture too! :)

If you want to find some place to relax, why not try The Chocolate Factory? It’s really a nice & comfy place to have a cup of coffee and chit chat. HeeHee

Riverside Indonesian Restaurant

Had been planning to go to the Riverside Indonesian Restaurant since last year. Twice, we planned to go there for dinner but both times something will crop up. Third time, we went there with a group of friends, we had to make our way to other restaurants cos’ the place is fully packed and we didn’t make any reservations. :(

FINALLY, we made a reservation & went to the restaurant for dinner! Yippee! Made a reservation at 6.30pm. But we reached there at 5.45pm. (The restaurant opens at 5.30pm) Keke

As it was raining that day, we took the table at the Indonesian Restaurant. We were then served prawn crackers ($2 included in our bill) while waiting for our food.

Here’s our Twin-Combination Set D ($24). It consists of Sting-Ray with Sambal, Grilled Chicken, Prawn with Hot Sweet & Sour Sauce & Sambal Kangkong .

Of all the 4 dishes, I like the grilled chicken most. Like the marinated honeyed chicken. It’s really really yummy! Next would be the Prawn. The sauce is spicy & Yummy!

Sotong Goreng (Fried Squid)
Sotong Goreng (Fried Squid)

We also tried the Fried Squid. It was yummy! The 1st thought was that it tasted a bit like Old Chang Kee Squid’s head.

The twin-combination set is just nice for both of us. And with the fried squid, it was a bit too much for us to finish. keke

Guess what? I am already planning on going there with my friends the next time. :D Next time, I want to try the 6 course meal which is about $10 per person. :)

Netsu Retsu Ichiban-Tei

There are about 3 to 4 Japanese Restaurants at Robertson Quay. Went with a group of friends recently & had our dinner at 1 of the restaurants, Netsu Retsu Ichiban-Tei.

I had a Tonkutsu Set. There is the Tonkutsu Ramen, a tofu rice & salad. The soup base is nice but a bit saltish for me & the ramen is yummy. What I like best is the tofu rice. Wow! I could feel the softness of the tofu in the mouth as I was typing this. Its really really nice. And the sauce? It blends very well with the tofu. Yummy! Yummy!

Other yummy dishes we ordered that day. Didn’t get a chance to have a bite though. keke

Le Chasseur Skewer

April 7, 2007 · Filed Under Yummy! · 7 Comments

The wall painted like blue sky with white clouds, by the side the walls are surrounded by woods. It was as if we were eating in a ‘village’ under the sky. That’s what attracted me to eat in Le Chasseur Skewer last Tuesday. :)

Situated at 31, New Bridge Rd, near to Clarke Quay, is a place not be missed. ;)

Pictures

They have a variety of Chinese delights in their menu.

Homemade Barley

And a note pasted on the wall stating that their food has no MSG, no food pigment essence, no GST & no service charge. Just like home-cooked food.

Their homemake barley is just nice for quenching our thirst in the warm weather. ;) If you do not like Barley, there are still other different types of homemake drinks too.

Curry Chicken

The gravy for Curry Chicken is thick & spicy! Yummy!

Lotus Seed with Chicken Feet Soup

Lotus Seed with Chicken Feet Soup was nice but I find it not to my liking. ;)

So, if next time I would want to eat out for home-cooked food. Guess I can head out to Le Chasseur Skewer. keke

Liang Seah Eating Place

April 7, 2007 · Filed Under Yummy! · 1 Comment

Been going through my food gallery & realize that I had missed out 1 eating place. :)

We were at Bugis one day & decided to had our dinner at Liang Seah Street. Passed by alot of shops and finally settle ourselves on Liang Seah Eating Place. We chose the 1 with air-conditioned. (They had air-conditioned & non air-conditioned)

Hot Plate Tofu @ Liang Seah Eating Place

We had Hotplate tofu. It’s still sizzling when it was served to us. Yummy! It’s abit spicy for me though. keke And the prawns are very big too! I seldom got to find big prawns in hotplate tofu. Yummy!

Next is the ‘Fu Rong Egg‘ Fried with a lot of onions, it taste nice but I find it a bit saltish. :)

Prawn Paste Chicken @ Liang Seah Eating Place

The Prawn Paste Chicken is yummy! But 1 thing I don’t like about it is that its not wings or drumstick. And I had quite a hard time eating the chicken. :-P
