Kowloon Dessert

April 30, 2007 · Filed Under Yummy! · 3 Comments

At the basement of People’s Park, there are quite a few stalls. At one end, near to a foodcourt, there is a small stall with 3 to 4 tables selling desserts.

A group of us went for the dessert after dinner for a try.

Wanted to introduce just one special dessert that some of us order. (Tried hubby’s)

This small cup of dessert is really a sensation! At first, when they told me that the taste of the mango is coming in a wave-like sensation in the mouth. My first thought was ‘Wow! That’s a bit exaggerating, you think you are in the comics?’

Out of curiousity, I took a sip. OMG! It’s no exaggeration at all! I am having a sensation of the taste of the mango as it gets sweeter and sweeter in my mouth! This is the first time that I believe that the comics aren’t that exaggerating cos’ I am feeling heaven!

I can almost feel as though I am swimming in the sea of mango. Just like in the comic! The pomelo & sago enhancing the sweetness of the mango make it even better.

Till now, I can still remember the sensation it gave to me…. :)

Barney Epic

April 28, 2007 · Filed Under Mama's Yakking · 2 Comments

Finally bought the Barney soft toy! :) Bought it at Clementi at those “Pasar Malam Stall” @ $8. And it can sing the “I love you” song when the tummy is pressed.

We were guessing what’s Amilie’s reaction would be when she saw it. (She wasn’t with us.) And we were discussing that she is not so willing to share her toys with didi.

How? She took away all her toys when she saw didi near them. (Don’t let him touch). When her hands are full, and she is in her hurry to prevent her lil’ bro from taking her toys, she simply throw it to the other side of the safety gate. Geez

Toys cant take
Izaac standing on 1 side looking at the toys

So hubby thought of teaching Amilie to share her things with didi that night (The night we bought Barney). When we reached home, we showed Izaac the soft toy (he wasn’t faze about it though) and well Amilie took it. When we asked her to share with didi, she refused.

M: Share with didi ok?
A: 不要 share didi
M: Cannot like this one, you share with didi, didi also share with jiejie
A: 不要 share didi
D: You don’t want share with didi then cannot have Barney
A: (Wanting to cry) 不要 share didi
Hubby took the Barney away
D: Share with didi
A: (Tears in her eyes) 不要 share

(After few moments of ‘Tug-of-War’)
M: Share with didi ok
A: 不要 share (Crying out loud)

Grandma come in (we are in the room) upon hearing Amilie’s cries and took Amilie away after she refused to stop crying and still refuses to share. *slaphead*

1 hour later….

Amilie came back in the room again :)

M: Share with didi ok
A: (Considering)
M: Share with didi then play Barney
A: Share with didi
*Applause* FINALLY! :)

Gave Amilie the toy and she ran off with it. Forgetting about the teaching already. And yap! Not sharing with didi Haiz

Few days later, I caught Amilie fighting over a book which Izaac was reading. As usual, she won.

M: Share with didi
A: 不要 share (Back facing me)
M: Share with didi or wait Papa take your Barney
Izaac got his book back. keke

People’s Park Complex

Was at Chinatown with a group of friends and had our dinner at People’s Park Complex. Chose one of the Cze Cha stalls there. Food is yummy. :)

Unfortunately, I had forgotten the stall’s name. :o Only remember that the stall’s also selling Yummy duck rice. :)

Recommended to try their self-make Yam Paste. We were told to eat it while it’s hot when it was served to us. And we did! The Yam Paste looks very appetizing with the prawns and other ingredients. It’s not looks good, it tastes good too. Yam’s really Yummy! , prawns are fresh & green pepper are crunchy.

Veggie with Fish slices

The vegetables looks plain and normal but its really crunchy too. The fish slices are not bad. It’s actually tasty and I couldn’t help but ate more of this dish. Yummy!

Fried Calamari with Mayonnaise is divine! :) I couldn’t stop myself from eating more even though it’s a bit saltish for me. Hehe

Butter Prawn @ People's Park Complex

Butter Prawn is big and fresh. Did not really managed to take a lot as the portion is quite small. (Think it’s 1 for each person) :-P And nobody’s willing to give up their share of the prawn. Hmmmph!

Lastly, the Prawn Paste Chicken. The taste of the prawn paste is just nice and the chicken is tender. :)

Total amount spent is around $50++. And we think it’s quite worth the amount we are paying for. So the next time if you happen to be at Chinatown, why not make a trip to People’s Park Complex to look for the Cze Cha stall. :)

WANTs & NOs

April 26, 2007 · Filed Under Mama's Yakking · 8 Comments
No No
Say ‘No No’ to Pom Pom

When Amilie wants to eat certain thing:
“Girl Girl 要吃”
“Girl Girl Aoi Sek” (Want to eat in Mandarin & Cantonese)

When Amilie don’t want to bathe:
“我不要冲凉” (I don’t want to bathe in Mandarin)

When Amilie ‘doing business’ in her diapers. (Hard time toilet trained her ;) ) and we wanted to clean her after that:
moi!” (Don’t want in Cantonese)

When I want to bathe:
“Mummy不要冲凉” (holding onto my leg at the same time :D )

When MIL wanted to carry didi:
moi pou, moi pou didi” (Don’t carry in Cantonese)

When didi tries to come down from the bed
“弟弟不要下来,等下跌倒“
“Boi Boi, no! fall down ah!”
Pushing didi into the center of the bed at the same time.

Recently heard her commenting on her photos:
“Girl Girl, 很cute.” keke

She knows how to differentiate MacDonald & KFC
M (Pointing to a KFC coupon) : MacDonald?
A: 不是Mac~Donald. KFC ah.

This morning she was reading a book.
She pointed a picture of a nose & tell me its a ear
M: 不是ear. 是nose.
A (looking at me strangely) : Ear
M: 不是ear. 是nose
A (puzzled): Ear
M (turning to the page on ear) : 不是ear, 这个ear (Pointing to the picture of the ear)
A (turning back to the nose & then to the ear & back to the nose): 这个nose啊
Finally! Think the only conclusion is that the nose and the ear look somewhat similar.keke

Pepper Lunch

April 25, 2007 · Filed Under Yummy! · 5 Comments

Was at The Central one evening and just so happen that they were giving out coupons for their set meals. Decided to give it a try since it’s about dinner time. Order a Salmon Pepper Rice Set ($8 - U.P. $9.50) & Combo Salmon & Chicken Set ($13.40 - U.P. $15.80).

My Salmon Pepper Rice Set includes a Salmon Pepper Rice & Miso Soup (Choice of soup or drink) It was sizzling hot when it arrived and according to the instructions, I had to mix them up as there are butter and sauce

in the middle of the plate.
And they also state that the more I mix them, the more delicious. It was fun mixing though. keke Think I didn’t mix well though, cos some part of the rice taste more saltish. There’s a pepper taste in the rice and the sauce is nice. The corns nibblets in the fried rice add the sweet flavour for the fried nice (I love corns!). Yummy! The freshly cooked salmon (it was not cooked when it was served) is yummy!

Hubby’s Combo Salmon & Chicken Set comes with the combo salmon & chicken, a bowl of rice and a drink. Hubby’s wasn’t as nice as mine though. Hehe!

Remote Controllers

April 24, 2007 · Filed Under Mama's Yakking · 7 Comments

Do you have problems finding remote controllers now & then? Well, we had! I am not sure what’s so captivating about the remote controllers for the 2 little Tangs at home.

Remote control
Remote control in his mouth

Few months back, Izaac always put them in his mouth when he got hold of any one as though they were some delicacy. Recently, he had advanced to playing with the buttons & scurried off whenever he pressed the wrong button.

Amilie always like to take the remote controller and left it somewhere in the house. She had left it her toy pram, in our bags, in her bag. And always had us searching for it.

Just few nights ago, she did it again! :o

As usual, we on our aircon to cool our room. Watched some tv, played with the kids before going to sleep. Finally time for bed. We did not off the aircon and in the middle of the night, hubby woke me up in search of the aircon’s remote controller.

We searched the whole room, living room, Amilie’s usual hiding spot for the remote control. But we couldn’t find it. So in the end, we had to cover ourselves with blanket from head to toe and waited till morning to find the controller.

Next morning, received a call from hubby. (I was at work) He told me he finally managed to find it and the funny thing is, he found it in the drawer beside our bed out of all places. :D

After that incident, we would keep a look out for remote control just in case it go missing again. Probably we should find some devices for us to trace our controllers, yeah?

Stall 28 @ Zion Rd Food Centre

April 23, 2007 · Filed Under Yummy! · Comment

Was there for lunch 1 day. Decided to try the Cze Cha stall (not sure what’s the name, only remember it’s stall #28).

As we weren’t very hungry that day, we only ordered 2 dishes to fill our half-emptied stomach.

Claypot Tofu @ Stall #28 Zion Rd Food Centre

Sweet & Sour Chicken

The claypot tofu ($8) is nice. But I felt thirsty after having that. Tofu are soft & rich. The gravy is nice. And it’s quite a big bowl for both of us. :) The sweet and sour chicken ($8) wasn’t really to our liking though. Found that the chicken wasn’t as crispy as expected but the meat is tender though.

Overall, average. But we think it’s a bit expensive for 2 dishes. ;)

Early this week, one of my colleagues’ last day at work. She’s going to another company with a better prospect & pay (And it’s tempting me! :-P ).

It’s sweet of her to get us cheesecake from Getel. (Thanks gal!)

She ordered two different flavoured cheesecakes, had a piece of Oreo cheesecake. It was very rich & yummy! Top layer of the cheesecake is coated with the chocolate or oreo powder (we had to eat with cautious) ! Yummy!

It’s a tradition to take pictures when someone leaves the company at our place & especially traditionally to take a ‘family photo’. :) So here’s a picture of our family….. Good luck gal! Going to miss ya! ;)

Free Cone Day - 17th April 2007

April 21, 2007 · Filed Under Baby Talk · 1 Comment

Yippee! So happy on 17th April, Tuesday!! :)

It’s free cone day @ Ben & Jerry’s ! The moment I saw them preparing to go out, I started walking about in front of them to catch their attention. (They had no intention of bringing me along at first) ;) And YES! It worked! They felt guilty and so brought me along to enjoy the ’special’ ice-cream that everyone’s talking about!

Kiss
Izaac happily kiss bye bye unknowingly

Hehe! Little Bro gotta stay at home while we went out.

Ben & Jerry's
Free Cone Day @ Great World Ben & Jerry’s

Took a bus there & when we reached Ben & Jerry’s at Great World #02-40A, we could see a lot of people queuing up for the free ice cream & some of them eating happily near to the shop.

We were lucky that we did not have to queue up like the others in the queue as we were told by the staff that children don’t have to queue. (See! It’s good to bring me along! :) )

Nice
Hmm… so nice
Satisfied
Feeling satisfied with the ice-cream. :)

Not sure what ice-cream we took but it was yummy! Haha! Hearing my suaku parents commenting of the ice-cream make me embarrassed though. ;) They keep saying that it’s really worth it to give Ben & Jerry’s a try. keke (That’s the 1st time the Tang Family excluding didi tried Ben & Jerry’s ice-cream) As for me, I was feeling very much satisfied after the ice-cream.

Hmm, guess mummy would be buying Ben & Jerry’s ice-cream when she wanted to have nice, yummy ice-cream! :-P
